Underneath all the musical craft, is a sense of humor that is laugh-out-loud funny. Check out the bio from the Gotye web site for proof! Somebody That I…
Read MoreI first ran across the pop-folk duo, Bella Ruse, about a year ago on Jamendo.com where I fell in love with singer Kay Gillette’s quirky pop styling. Jamendo, if you’ve been following along, is a source for music released under one of several Creative Commons licenses (free to download and listen to-some restrictions apply). Complicated Rhythm is from their 2011, more traditionally released, full-length, Kuhzoo, which you can purchase from their web site. You can also find them on MySpace and Facebook. Read MoreThanks to reverbmusic for this little bit of country, little bit of blue-grass, equal parts pop and rock and a touch of folk honesty. Here’s Miles to Dayton; tap your feet, rock out and Pass It On! You can find out more about this great group form their web site, which links to every other source available (MySpace, FaceBook, CDBaby, iTunes, you name it.) Take a listen, and after your feet stop moving, pick up their music! (Source: https://www.youtube.com/)
Read MoreSteeped in a bowl full of mournful, is the haunting yet beautiful 2010 release of Friend, by singer-songwriter Cheyenne Marie Mize. Instrumentation is spare and otherworldly. The banjo pluck, adds an additional layer of creepiness to an already eerie song. Thanks to blogger WashedInReverb for getting me started on Marie. You can find more information on Cheyenne Marie Mize by visiting her MySpace, BandCamp or FaceBook pages. Give her a listen! (Source: https://www.youtube.com/)

Fronted by guitarist, vocalist Israel Nebeker and drummer Ryan Dobrowski (once a two-piece), the band weaves stories and melodies together with flawless perfection. Go on Say It highlights both the depth of the band and the imagery. Blind Pilot can be found on their own web site as well as MySpace. Check them out! (Source: https://www.youtube.com/)
