Hope and Social – Sunrise Laughing

A few weeks back, Vodka posted the video/review for Feel, the lead-off and title track to Hope & Social’s latest long-player. (October 2016) Well, in case you’ve forgotten about them, here’s track two from that same LP, Sunrise Laughing, which is more than a little bit of feel-good pop. [dunkelbunt] – Cinnamon Girl

Here at Vodka, [dunkelbunt] has been our latest obsession since discovering the Mountain Jumper (March 2015) long-player late last year. You may recall the review for Egal featuring Alix on December 26. The long-player has been staying on Vodka’s playlist, popping to the top more often than not. The music, however, is like previous Freeman Dre offerings, full of rich blues and gravely good-humored vocals. The Kitchen Party provides expert instrumentation for Freeman’s vocal/lyrical delivery.  There’s plenty of good old rock and roll available in the ten tracks that…

Peaness – Seafoam Islands

The video for Seafoam Islands (seen/heard here) from the three-piece indie-pop band, Peaness (Chester, England) is the B-side to their latest single, Same Place, due out by the time you read this (January 2017). If the A-side is this good, these young ladies should have no problem selling the single like hotcakes! The video’s VHS quality is apparently intended and provides both humor and a glimpse into the fun that surrounds these three.  Now for the bad news: There is no complete bio (just a brief on the band on…
