Julian Velard – Do It Alone

Julian Velard’s brand of pop is rhythmic-nearly steeped in rhythm and blues-upbeat and lyrically adept.  Here on Do It Alone, from his 2009 long-player The Planeteer, Julian explores the age-old relationship issues on loss in an positive light.  He may be singing about the sadness of his lost relationship but you’ll still be tapping your feet to the beat. You can find more information on Julian Velard from his web site, which includes all of the social links you would expect, as well…

Mikael Jaeger Jensen – The Problem With Saints

This fan video of 8in8’s funny retro-pop tune, The Problem With Saints, is just plain fun. For those not in the know, 8in8 is a collaborative effort between Ben Folds, Amanda Palmer, Neil Gaiman and Damian Kulash-all musicians in their own right. Stephanie Mabey – The Zombie Song

So if you’ve been following along on this blog for awhile, you know that this is the third video related to death or zombies. I assure you, it is totally accidental!  While perusing bandcamp.com, I came across the inventive pop music of Sephanie Mabey, which led me to search out a video for her music, which in turn led me to The Zombie Song. This fun song is knee deep in puntentiousness and is available both as a part of Stephanie’s…

Chasing Jonah – Run

Floridian four-piece indie-folk troupe Chasing Jonah is fronted by the beautiful voice of Ashley Dudukovich and explores life and living in this troubled age. Here on Run, from the 2012 4-song EP And The Clocks Moved, Ashley’s expressive voice slips neatly in front of the story but never over shadows it.  This is indie-folk music in its finest form. You can pick up the entire EP or the single from i-tunes by visiting the band on their web site. Here you will also find…
