George Ezra – Listen to the Man

I’m late to the George Ezra party, but thanks to my daughter’s recommendation, I’m in now! George recently released his debut long-player, Wanted On Voyage (January 2015), in both original and deluxe formats. The deluxe version gives you three bonus tracks. George does a good job of releasing videos for his songs, making it easy to pick a favorite, and for this go around I just had to pick Listen To The Man, because of the humor included with video guest…

Bekah Kelso & The Fellas – Wicked Love

Bekah Kelso And The Fellas new long-player, No Stranger, should be fully released by the time you read this (February 2015), so if you are a fan of blues inflected everything music, then go pick up a copy right now! Front woman Bekah Kelso has the vocal phrasing of a jazz vocalist, a blues-rocker or a folk-popster, depending on the track. The band is tight yet playful and very accomplished. Crystal Bowersox – Dead Weight

Armed with a powerful (and I mean powerful) set of vocal chops that can rip the rafters wide open or soothe the souls most painful moments, Crystal Bowersox is a vocal force to be reckoned with. Her songwriting is no slouch either.  Case in point would be Dead Weight, the opening track from 2013’s All That For This.  Ms. Bowersox tunes are what I would refer to as blues infused Americana, but whatever you categorize them as, they are wonderful. On the music…

Lunatic Wolf – The Tallest Tree

Lunatic Wolf was formed in 2012 in Johannesburg South Africa. This folk rock band’s songs are beautiful compositions. Take The Tallest Tree from their debut long-player To The Adventure (November 2014) as just one example. The eleven tracks on To The Adventure are, like The Tallest Tree,  mostly slow to mid-tempo numbers, which seems to work really well for the band.  The core of Lunatic Wolf is created from founding members, Gavin van den Berg and Richard Oldfield, who together have been…
