Fox and Bones continue to surprise with blues-infused rock gem Already Here (Music in Modern Times) (video released May 29, 2020) about what it’s like today to try and make music. Essentially, the moral of the story is that you’d better love what you’re doing because it ain’t glorious or easy folks:

“You want to play music in modern times?
Well here’s some hints to help you make up your mind
I’s gonna take your money, it’ll take all of your pride
And if you’re lucky, you’ll play out enough to barely get by

You’ll be away from your home, your life becomes the road
Gotta pay your dues, playing to empty rooms
With people’s backs to you, getting paid in booze
Oh you better love it to”

The song continues to talk about paying dues and finally getting a little respect and a little pride back, but the sub-text is it’s a long road to get there. 

Fox and Bones have appeared on Vodka several times now and I don’t think it’s an accident. Combining Americana-tinged folk and rock, the duo has composed a wealth of hit-worthy music in my eyes.
