Lily & Madeleine – Come To Me
Sister folk-popsters Lily & Madeleine made their Vodka debut this year a few months after their critically acclaimed EP The Weight Of The Globe (January 2013) was released and since then, they have garnered air play on forward-thinking radio stations, such as Serious XM radio’s The Loft and others, while tending to an ever growing fan-base. On October 29th, the duo released their debut self-titled long-player and it is more of the same great music.
While Globe seemed to focus on a single style-melodic ballads that highlighted the two part harmonies of the duo but barely raised the the beats per minute above 60, the new LP plays very cautiously with some lighter more up-beat tunes (Nothing But Time, I’ve Got Freedom). These two tracks prove that there is more to Lily & Madeleine than just a soft ballad. That said, most tracks still stick to what became a pattern in Globe, and while the two harmonize effortlessly, I would encourage them to experiment more fully with changing up the speed and texture of the tunes the next time out. Make no mistake, though, this LP is more than worth the price of admission-just to hear these two sing together.
Lily & Madeleine have a great web site, with all of their social and purchase links readily available. Their self-titled debut is available from Asthmatic Kitty Records, i-Tunes and bandcamp.com. If you have not as yet experienced their music, now is the time to make a purchase. Check out Lily & Madeleine now!
