There is something very infectious about the middle-eastern style of Israeli singer-songwriter Roy Dahan’s folk-pop. It’s as if he has taken his homeland and transformed it into American popular culture while retaining the spiritual essence of the former. That is very evident on State Of Mind from his May 2011 long-player, Some Of This Life.  The rhythms are unique, the inclusion of the cello such a beautiful touch and Roy Dahan has a magnificent voice too.
