Chordslinger n Lola – Your Destiny

Back in April, I posted another track from Chordslinger n’ Lola, the internet collaborating team of singer (Lola de Hanna) and instrumentalist, song-writer, Chordslinger.  I can’t help but be impressed by the music these two have created together. This time out, they’ve created a tribute to Greece and the socioeconomic situation that is going on there. The music and the singing is all top notch. Taking on the issue of Greece’s dilemma is a hot-button issue, I’m sure, for some; But this…

Evergreen – Vintage Car

Thanks to fellow blogger Fabric Sound, for getting me started on the French alterna-folk-pop trio We Were Evergreen. This band is quirky, yet accessible and a bit prolific! There are a lot of videos to choose from out there. The band has a web site, where you can get a free download of this track, Vintage Car, but otherwise the site is a bit sketchy on details. You can pick up the two-song EP Baby Blue on Amazon or you can find We Were Evergreen…

Harry’s Law Ending

Let’s be clear.  I don’t watch much television.  The reason is that each time I get attached to a show, the network of weak knee money-grubbing swill cancels it.  This goes double for the always thought-provoking and insightful Harry’s Law, starring Kathy Bates. It infuriated me to find that, once again, network television was going to pull the plug on another great show.  It will probably be replaced with another idiotic “reality” show, that has nothing to do with reality, and everything to do with belittling our fellow man.  NBC had…

Jenn Bostic – Snowstorm

Singer-songwriter and sometime country singer Jenn Bostic, has a pleasing way of telling a story. Take the ivory tickling for instance on Snowstorm-so lyrical and so punctuated. Add in Jenn’s wonderful voice, and you have a recipe for a great song. Check out Jenn’s web page for a whole lot of information, including this video as well as the equally wonderful and touching ballad, Jealous of the Angels. Read Jenn Bostic’s “About” page too, as there is a lot of information about how Jenn…

Barnaby Saints – Bones

Let’s be clear, you could purchase Barnaby Saints, six song EP from their Bandcamp site on the strength of Bones alone; But that won’t be necessary. A lousy $5 will get you what has to be described as six indie-rock-bluegrass tunes that will have you feeling good and singing along, regardless of the lyric line. I’d predict that the Barnaby Saints would go far, but the music business is an evil little prick these days. What gets noticed is usually not worth being…
