Madeleine Peyroux – The Kind You Can’t Afford

 Bluesy, Jazzy, with just the right touch of pop, I love Madeleine Peyroux, and this track is particularly wonderful.  I first heard Madeleine on the 2004, best of the year review version of Morning Becomes Eclectic (KCRW radio-check them out online).  I promptly bought the 3 CD’s I could get my hands on, and they are all excellent.  This track, however, is much newer, so I guess I’ll have to go on another buying spree.  Check out Madeleine on her…

Hollie Cook – Walking In The Sand

 If you’ve not heard of Hollie Cook then prepare to be amazed.  Hollie weaves an interesting reggae influenced pop that is infused with just a touch of R&B.  It’s something that, even if you aren’t a huge fan of reggae, is totally infectious and addictive.  Her full-length debut simply entitled Hollie Cook is a cohesive collection of songs, with just enough difference in them to make each a worthy listen in it’s own right.
