Black Horse Motel – Rattler

In your face bluegrass-tinged, alt-country, folk fun! That is the white-hot feel of Rattler, from Black Horse Motel. It’s the first single release from their new six-song EP, And Then You Were Gone (July 2018) out now! This is a song that builds to an emotional frenzy without ever losing the beat. It’s a rhythm that will keep you moving until the last stanza fades.

And Then You Were Gone follows up to last year’s Parable, a 5-song EP that saw Black Horse Motel moving a little bit away from the more traditional style the group portrayed back with their debut long-player, Red Summer Spirit in 2013. If Rattler is any indication, they are prepared to keep the transition moving.

All of Black Horse Motel’s music is very good. Red Summer Spirit, for instance, has some absolutely beautiful moments. This is a band that isn’t content with just performing within the status quo, and that is a good thing for the listener because variety is everywhere.

You can find more information on Black Horse Motel by heading up to their very nicely formatted website. Everything is there. Check out this great band, and if you are from the Eastern Coast of the US, check out their tour schedule as well.
