Gal Musette – Ghost

A musical prodigy who began writing and performing lyrical piano compositions at the ripe old age of 10, Grace Freeman (Gal Musette) spins us up a beautiful bit of introspection with Ghost (seen/heard here). Musette’s piano work is a simple and beautiful bit of dancing, flowing, notes, that could easily stand on its own as an instrumental. Her lyrics and voice, add a bit more pizzazz, without overshadowing that underlying atmospheric setting. And what of the lyrics? Musette allows the listener room to interpret, but the lyrics are none-the-less comforting:

“I awake to a ghost every evening now
Imaginary friends aren’t so bad when they help somehow

You are so beyond reach
You are so look the moon
Coming, going has always been your knack
But my ghost comes around
Every night when he’s gone I know he’ll be coming back”

Gal Musette has performed as an opening act for such artists as Macy Gray, Suzanne Vega, and Todd Snyder to name just three. Everything she has created to this point is leading up to her very first long-player release, Backwards Lullaby that is scheduled for October 2021,  just a month away.

You can find more information on Gal Musette by heading up to her simple, yet complete, website. Everything is available there, with the exception of her bandcamp.com link, which you should use to pick up her singles and earlier EPs.
