Lisa Wright – Ready Now

Lisa Wright’s Ready Now (seen/heard here) doesn’t break much new ground where musical styles are concerned but it is a great example of Lisa’s beautiful voice, and sometimes (as in this case) that’s enough.  She has a naturally resonating voice that is immediately accessible. There’s not too much out there from this amazing singer-songwriter yet, but you can listen to a few of her tracks on Spotify and get a feel for where she’s been and where she’s going musically.

Ready Now was written with songwriter Rachel Furner and feels like a confessional of sorts for Lisa. It is stripped of multi-orchestrated production values down to the minimal elements: Lisa and a piano. That’s a very good thing because both of those elements are outstanding! A lot of the music that I’ve heard over the last couple of years is all about adding production, rather than letting the music speak for itself. Here, Lisa is front and center, with a beautiful melody and really… that voice! If you aren’t carried away by Lisa’s rich vocals, then there is truly something wrong with you.

Lyrically, the song is about facing your deepest fears and how that is difficult but also worth the journey.

You can find more information on Lisa Wright by heading up to her website, which has all of the social and streaming links you require. No purchase links yet, but watch for that!

Check out a new artist with the chops to carry her into the next phase of her musical journey. Stream some of her music on Spotify and be ready to purchase an EP or LP once one becomes available. If Ready Now is any indication, there is MUCH more to come.

Note: Just when things were returning to a semblance of normality, the COVID 19 virus is again heating up in many areas of the country. It’s so disheartening to know that we have the tools to make this a non-event, by simply getting vaccinated and fully boosted. The virus has the potential, again, to shut down performances for musical artists. For this reason, artists such as Lisa Wright could still use your purchases. If your situation allows it, consider purchasing more in these tough times.  Please, if you are physically able to do so, get vaccinated. — Vodka
