Quidam Pilgrim – Aquelarre

What happens when you combine, Enya, Pink FloydQueensrÿche, add some jazz, Celtic and Cuban flavoring, blend neatly and dispense?  You end up with the Cuban band Quidam Pilgrim, that’s what!  This 2012 video of Aquelarre, from the 2007 released long-player, The Pilgrim Progress, highlights how absolutely perfect all of those influences are together. When you watch this video and listen, it’s hard to imagine that Quidam Pilgrim is a duo, but it most certainly is. The band is co-composer, lyricist and singer, Adela Rivas Cruz, and co-composer, musician, Félix Muñiz Penedo. This music draws you into the rich textures within and alternates between the quieter and louder moments with great effect. The Pilgrim Progress is a concept album, with each song relating to sections of the book by the same name, written by John Bunyan.

You can find info on the band from their web site, but it’s all in Spanish, so if you are wanting information on the band in English, check out their MySpace, Reverbnation, or Facebook sites.Check out Quidam Pilgrim for something completely different!
