Cathleen Taubert – The Only One

Fresh-faced Berliner Cathleen Taubert came to Nashville, TN, and recorded this video gem in 2008.    It’s a simple yet beautiful song, with Cathleen’s slightly smokey alto bringing life to the emotions.  The Only One captures a sense of loss or longing with a beautiful country backdrop.   There is very little in English about Cathleen, however, her Blogspot page translates fairly well with Google’s translator and there you will find that she has worked as a music therapist of sorts…

It includes a complete commentary on La Grande, photos, discography and social links (MySpace,…

Blog posts are all ready for May May’s posts are all in the can, and there is a decidedly heavy bent towards Folk, Bluegrass and Americana this time out.  It was purely an accidental happenstance. Music discovery sometimes takes you in the same direction for awhile. If you believe that you aren’t into those types of music, all I can say is give these tracks a chance.   Purchases this last cycle Like most people, I have a limited music purchasing budget.  I mean hey, you’ve gotta eat, right?  In April, I picked up Snarky Puppy and Vintage Trouble among a couple of other grabs…
