The Black Feathers – The Ghosts Have Eaten Well |

The Black Feathers have graced the Vodka page several times before and is one of my favorite duos, though I have several.  Enter the latest offering (June 2018) from the EP of the same name, The Ghosts Have Eaten Well, and rejoice!  That’s right, it should be a celebration every time you see that this great couple has released more music as it is always top-notch.  The fact of the matter is that The Black Feathers are getting noticed in a big way, making in-roads…

We Are Leif – I’ve Found You

Vodka has a soft spot for spot-on jazz vocal performances and I’ve Found You is one of those magical moments. The track is part of We Are Leif’s debut long-player Breathe (September 2018) which is a collection of jazz melded with R&B and downtempo, (among others) and features the rich alto of Louise Victoria front and center. I’ve Found You builds on the beginning theme, and revels in love found in a glorious build-up to the finale.  While I’ve Found You may be the stand-out track here, there…

The Devil Makes Three – Drunken Hearted Man

Vodka has never included a video from The Devil Makes Three before, most notably because the band makes very few videos that aren’t just audio-only tracks or full studio performances. Hey Geronimo – Disconnect

Vodka had a flurry of Hey Geronimo tracks featured early on, starting with the funny and fun Why Don’t We Do Something clear back in August 2012. Over the last six years, the band has evolved musically and emotionally. Enter the hard look at our connected lives in Disconnect (seen/heard here) from what appears to be part of a theme from the new long-player, Content, due out by the time you read this. (September 2018) The band is still full of spot-on melodies and rhythms that keep the message…

Luana Maso – Let The Rain

You may remember Luana Maso from Vodka’s review of the first single from her LP, Down The Rabbit Hole (April 2017),  Legends, that we posted about 10 months back. Well here is the second single off of that great LP, Let The Rain, another straight-up pop song done beautifully by the Italian songstress. As with Legend, Let The Rain is again about love and loss, and the search for balance within relationships. If Luana’s songs are truthfully about her own life experiences, it is terribly sad. One…
