Little Hurricane – Mockingbird

Ever wonder if a duo can really sound like a full band? Little Hurricane has always made that perfectly evident. Their music is usually raw, edgy, dirty blues-infused rock and roll. This little duo is one of Vodka’s favorites. If you have reason to doubt that, then take a look at the posts I’ve featured from them. Like many artists, they’ve been a bit quiet over the past couple of years… for good reasons. The pandemic surely played a part, but so did the fact…

Little Hurricane – That Woman / Poor Me

One of Vodka’s favorite rock couples, Little Hurricane, had a new long-player in 2019, and it slipped beneath the radar for some reason. Enter That Woman and  Poor Me from their August 2019 long-player, Love Luck! A Look Back at 2015

It was a great year in music and Vodka takes pride in knowing that at least one of our long followed artists, Courtney Barnett, was nominated in the Best New Artist category for a Grammy. She deserves it! We have followed her since the wonderful History Eraser posted over 3 years ago-from her singles, to her EPs and even her duet work. Her humor and edgy guitar work make her unique in the indie-rock field and who better to win a Grammy for Best New Artist?  We will see how the voting ends up in 2016, but let’s hope she…

Little Hurricane – Sheep In Wolves Clothes

Little Hurricane is not new to Vodka, making their first appearance over two years go with the scrappy two-piece rock and roll of Give Em Hell, followed in short succession by Haunted Heart and finally about a year later with Crocodile Tears, all from their stellar debut long-player, Homewrecker, released in 2012. Sheep In Wolves Clothes is from the duo’s latest long-player, Gold Fever (2014), and punctuates why I love this group so much. It’s emotive rock, played and sung…
