Good Old War – Never Gonna See Me Cry

Sometimes here at Vodka, we like to take a look back at artists that we reviewed some time ago and see how they are doing. Such is the case with Good Old War. We did a mini-review of Calling Me Names clear back in April 2013. I’ve got to say the duo has been busy perfecting their folk-pop chops and Never Gonna See Me Cry, the latest single from the duo’s new long-player Broken Into Better Shape (June 2015), is a great example of that!   Good…

Parsonsfield – Stronger

Since everything happens on our phones these days, it is fitting that Parsonsfield made the video to the opening track of their new long-player, Blooming Through The Black (September 2016), phone-centric. Part lyric, performance, and standard video, Stronger plays on all three to come up with a truly unique delivery. Sweet Soubrette – Wake Up When

If you are a Vodka frequenter, you will recognize the face and voice of Ellia Bisker, as the female portion of the Charming Disaster duo. Here, with her original band, Sweet Soubrette, Ellia’s mournful vocals define Wake Up When from the group’s new long-player, Big Celebrity, due out at the end of November. Check out the group’s original release post for this video from their website: “Sweet Soubrette’s “Wake Up When” is a song about looking for wisdom, learning lessons, forgetting everything, and starting over. Find it on Sweet…

Lucas Jack – A Little More

You may remember self-proclaimed reformed lawyer Lucas Jack from clear back in 2013 and the video/review for Don’t Get Carried Away. Well, Lucas is back and adding more muscle to his great piano-rock with his new long-player, Make It Beautiful (August 2016), from which A Little More comes. It’s great stuff and rocks a little harder than the original LP. Before we continue, though, let’s talk just a bit about that earlier review. On December 12th, 2013, when the original review was posted, the long-player that we were reviewing was…

Lindsey Stirling – The Arena

As sometimes happens, a journey to research an artist for Vodka led to the discovery of this amazingly talented violinist, Lindsey Stirling, and the video for Crystallize and that led us to look up Lindsey and to find this video, The Arena, from a new long-player due out (by the time you read this, it should be out) August 19, 2016, entitled Brave Enough.  Vodka doesn’t very often dwell on instrumental music but there are exceptions, and we are happy to include Lindsey Stirling in the “exceptions” department.  Lindsey’s music is…
