Jason Mraz – The Woman – Love

A Little More Vodka, A Little Less Milk is usually a space dedicated to the lesser known and harder to find artists, and to be clear, this will always my focus: finding the jewels in the rough in a desert of music. While Jason Mraz does not fill that category, I’m including him here as much for his social activism as for his great pop music. Just 36 years old, Jason Mraz has a successful musical career that dates back to 1999,…

Flagship Romance – Hit The Ground

About 5 months ago, I reviewed the fun folk-country-pop of Flagship Romance and their song Treason from their debut EP, The Fudge Sessions (January 2013). These two provide such beautiful harmonies and incredible melodies, that they deserve yet another look. Hit The Ground is a true testament to this duo’s love for each other and yet another look at those oh so important harmonies. If you can carry a tune in a bucket, you will easily be singing along with all of Flagship…

Larrapin Band – Dances

A solid lead vocal (Bryerly Bishop), tight vocal harmonies (add in Lewis Fieldhouse), combine with a catchy melody and rhythm to create the single, Dances (July 2013). Bishop and Fieldhouse are the two components of Larrapin and they are just getting started. The duo has been making music together since the Fall of 2012 and if this single is any indication, have a bright future ahead. Check out and purchase Dances for a buck on their bandcamp.com page. Other than the duo’s Twitter page,…

Krissy Krissy – Maybe I

On Maybe I, pop singer-songwriter Krissy Krissy still isn’t breaking new ground with her pop music any more than she was with Dream (seen here about 11 months ago as a single and now part of the September 2012 EP, Above All that contains Maybe I as well) but doggone it, everything she does she does with such passion and talent that it’s hard not to love her music. Krissy Krissy has the passion and natural ability for pop music song-craft. Those…

Wiretree – Get Up

I’ve been a fan of Wiretree for a long time. In fact, I reviewed their 2009 long-player, Luck, on a different blog back in October of that same year. Wiretree has a a great sound. They are a little bit of pop-rock heaven. Get Up is from their July 2013 long-player of the same name. Think of Wiretree as 60’s and 70’s influenced pop-rock, with plenty of today’s musical influences to keep them relevant.  You can find more information on Wiretree by visiting their web…
