Meg Myers – Running Up That Hill

It came as no surprise in January when Vodka favorite Meg Myers hit number 1 on the Billboard singles chart. What surprised me was that she made that number 1 chart-topper with a remake of Kate Bush’s 1985 hit Running Up That Hill (seen/heard here). Not that there’s anything wrong with that song. In fact, Myers’ interpretation of that song just reminds you what a great piece of music it actually is. The surprise comes that Myers’ own works haven’t made the same splash. They should! Vodka has…

Meg Myers – Numb

Count me in with the people who are excited that Meg Myers is about to release a new long-player. It feels like a long dry spell between records, (the last long-player from Ms. Myers, Sorry, came out in 2015) but the wait is almost over and if the early single release is any indication, Meg is back with a vengeance. Numb (seen/heard here) is the first single from the forthcoming (at the time of this writing) Take Me To The Disco (July 2018).  Myers music is always something wonderful to behold….

Meg Myers – Motel

Not quite a year ago, Meg Myers, a rocker that Vodka has been following for some time, finally released her first long-player, Sorry (September 2015), after two excellent EP’s, Daughter In The Choir (2012) and Make A Shadow (2014), along with a host of equally well-done music videos. We can’t understand why she has yet to become a household word in the rock n’ roll fan base. Ms. Myers was really active right up until she was picked up by Warner Music and then things got pretty quiet.  I’m…

Meg Myers – Cold

Music Musings – July 2013 Focus on Meg Myers There’s no denying the influence that Meg Myers has had over me during the last year. I keep returning to her performances time and again. Watchful readers will note that it has only been a couple of weeks since Heart Heart Head was reviewed and before that, there have been two other videos Tennessee, about 7 months ago and Monster almost a year ago. Monster grabbed me (and many other readers) so much, that it made…

Meg Myers – Heart Heart Head

I’ve been waiting for an actual video to be release for Heart Heart Head from the stunning Meg Myers since I heard the track for the first time a couple of months ago. The video was released on April 30, but due to forward posting, the entire month of May was already spoken for on this blog. If you’ve been following along, you’ve seen Meg here before. Monster appeared last year and was also one of the top 40 tracks on…
